Made at Maryland -- Student Entrepreneurs at Terp Marketplace

College Park, Md. -- University of Maryland students are taking their business education out of the classroom and into the marketplace. Thirty student entrepreneurs will set up shop at The Robert H. Smith School of Business Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship Terp Marketplace, a shopping experience featuring products and services from current UMD students and recent alumni.

Terp Marketplace offers budding entrepreneurs an opportunity to test their product or service and interact with customers. A sample of Terp Marketplace vendors includes:

- Sweet Indulgence cupcakes
- Darling Face postcards
- Mike & Cookies
- Route 1 Apparel
- ShadesForU sunglasses
- Livity Foods
- Coffee and Cupcakes
- Community Ladders financial planning

Terp Marketplace will be followed by Pitch Dingman Competition -- where five student entrepreneurs will pitch their business ideas to a panel of successful entrepreneurs and investors. The students will compete for $2,500 in seed funding. The audience will help select the $250 winner of the Audience Choice Award.
