Fracking and Earthquakes

The University of Maryland has the experts you need to talk about "fracking" - and the earthquakes some say are being caused by the storage of waste water used in the process deep underground. Recent stories have suggested that storing the waste water underground under high pressure, as well as the fracking process itself (using high pressure to crack shale rock and releasing natural gas) is causing an increased number of earthquakes in areas of the US (primarily the midwest) that have experienced few earthquakes in the past. Our experts are listed alphabetically. Please feel free to contact them directly. NOTE: We will add more experts over time.)
