COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland presents the seventh episode of TerpVision. Hosted by Maryland alumna Bonnie Bernstein '92, TerpVision tells the stories of Maryland's faculty, staff and students and the incredible impact they are having in our communities and in our world. In this episode, TerpVision will tell five compelling stories from across the College Park campus and beyond:
Every four years, the citizens of the United States pause to elect a new president. At its best, the process represents an opportunity for a national debate on issues of broad importance and interest. The economy. National security. Health care. In today's modern world, with 24/7 news cycles and social media that communications in real-time, the election process can seem like a never-ending sound byte, a campaign blurred by rhetoric, charges and counter charges. On November 6, the United States will elect either Barack Obama or Mitt Romney as president. This election, like others who have come before it, are rife with research opportunities. At the University of Maryland, our proximity to Washington, DC provides us with a unique view of the political world, and with unparalleled research opportunities.
